This event marks Chef Chumpol’s first North American collaboration and his debut visit to Canada. Chef Chumpol is a trailblazer in Royal Thai cuisine, making history as the first Thai chef to earn 2-MICHELIN stars at R-HAAN in Bangkok, Thailand. He is also renowned as the Iron Chef of Thailand and serves as the official ambassador of Thai cuisine worldwide. His illustrious career includes cooking for the Thai Royal families, VIP guests of the Thai government, European royalty, Presidents, and Prime Ministers.

He has previously worked with culinary giants such as Anton Mosimann, Joan Roca, and Pierre Gagnaire.

We invite you to a groundbreaking culinary adventure with the launch of the world’s first “Afternoon Tea Thai Experience,” a memorable afternoon set against the backdrop of breathtaking ocean views. You can indulge in a selection of unforgettable and unique small dishes alongside a world class tea offering.
 

This pioneering experience combines five distinct tea pairings, a choice of caffeinated Gong Fu Cha or Caffeine-Free, curated by a certified tea sommelier, accompanied with twelve meticulously hand-crafted Thai dishes to share.

Celebrating the Bounty and Beauty of Thailand

With the earth as her anchor and Thailand her port of call, Chef Nutcha Phanthoupheng weaves a culinary and cultural tapestry. Each dish is a subtle song celebrating the earth, through her selection of ingredients and her choice of presentation, with many items arriving to the table on custom, hand-hewn pottery and dinnerware crafted from by Thai artisans.

This Taste of Baan Lao, “Celebrating the Bounty and Beauty of Thailand” is a culinary tour of Thailand showcasing 13-Course Tasting Menu with special and rare ingredients.

Chef Nutcha Phanthoupheng’s Signature Dinner Experience menu, “From The Fields of Thailand To The Shores of Canada”, is a culinary experience that chronicles Chef Nutcha’s life journey from growing up in rural Thailand to building her life in Steveston on the coast of British Columbia.

This exquisite menu includes protein sources common for Chef Nutcha when she was a child, including hand-roasted insects, and organic water buffalo. Her love of fresh lobster is represented on the menu as well, with lobster being flown in each week from the east coast of Canada. Her carefully crafted dessert, “Chef Nutcha’s Childhood Memories” is a showstopper.

Chef Nutcha Phanthoupheng, in collaboration with Chen-Wei Lee, Private Client Director of LOUIS XIII, welcomes you to an exclusive BAAN LAO LOUIS XIII  dining experience. 

This exceptional event promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Royal Thai gastronomy, meticulously orchestrated by the team at  BAAN LAO FINE THAI CUISINE. The carefully curated menu, abundant with the finest seasonal and exotic ingredients, is designed to offer an insight into the exquisite world of Royal Thai culinary arts. Join us for this extraordinary celebration of taste and tradition.

Dinner will be held on the 28th of September 2024, with seatings available for 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
