Job Duties: 

• Prepare and cook Thai-style full meals, dishes and specialty foods as instructed by chef
• Participate in menu planning and food presentation design.
• Facilitate the service of all food, ensuring client food preferences are respected and quality presentation is maintained.
• Prepare meals in strict adherence to Baan Lao’s standards
• Assist chefs in monitoring cooking process
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Help monitor stock
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ensure food is safely stored, properly labelled and dated to avoid spoilage and facilitate proper rotation
• Serve as a brand ambassador for Baan Lao, demonstrating honesty, integrity and a commitment to exceptional customer service

Qualifications:

As a member of the Baan Lao kitchen team, you are passionate about food, have an incredible eye for detail, and believe food presentation is an art form that instantly elevates the dining experience.

• 3+ years of work experience as a cook
• Previous Thai food kitchen experience is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
• FoodSafe Level 1 certification is an asset.
• Passionate about maintaining a positive environment for guests and coworkers
• Committed to working as a team
• High school diploma required; Culinary school training an advantage.
