HEALTH & SAFETY

The health and safety of our Baan Lao guests and team remain our top priority. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all of us. As we’ve been lovingly creating Baan Lao, we have integrated safety measures throughout the design process, allowing for a seamless and elegant experience that’s safe for guests and our team. We are doing everything we can to ensure your risk of exposure to any virus is minimized during your visit to Baan Lao.

Baan Lao Guests:

  • Due to limited seating capacity, reservations are required for our dinner service.
  • Guests will be required to wait outside until your table is ready.
  • Please be on time! Guests will not be seated at their table until all members of your party have arrived.
  • Upon arrival at Baan Lao, all guests will be required to use hand sanitizer immediately upon entering.
  • For your convenience and safety, additional hand sanitizer stations are available throughout Baan Lao.
  • A Baan Lao ambassador will greet guests at the door, providing hand sanitizer, and masks for those guests who have forgotten to bring one.
  • Masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn by guests at all times when you are not seated at your table. This includes wearing a mask while being escorted to your table, when going to/from the washroom, and when departing the restaurant.
  • For any guest who may have a medical exemption to wearing a mask, we request you wear one for the brief periods of time when you are not seated at your table, out of respect for our other guests and appreciation for our Baan Lao team.
  • Mandatory screening will be conducted before entering, and may include a temperature check.
  • As required by the BC Provincial Health Office, we are not allowed to welcome groups larger than six guests.
  • Reserving multiple tables through separate bookings is considered a group booking. As such, guests may not mingle with guests at other tables, or to move to another table.
  • All guests must remain seated at your assigned table.
  • Guests should only leave their table to go to the washroom, and enter/exit the restaurant. Please do not wander throughout the restaurant.
  • Our seating allocations are designed to maintain the required physical distancing as required by the current safety regulations.
  • Liquor will only be served to guests seated at their assigned table. Direct service from the bartender is not permitted.
  • While we love to witness our guests’ exuberance, and enjoy sharing in the many special celebrations held at Baan Lao, singing and dancing are not permitted, in accordance with current health restrictions.
  • In accordance with the requirements of the Provincial Health Officer, contact information must be collected from each guest, allowing for follow-up from the health department should any potential exposure be identified.
  • Please help us keep our team and guests healthy. If you are not feeling well, if you have a cough, cold, suffering from a sore throat, are experiencing any other common COVID-19 symptoms, or have had exposure to the virus within the past 14 days, please do not enter Baan Lao. We look forward to welcoming you when you are feeling better.
  • Touch-free, electronic menus are available using our QR code. Simply scan the code using your mobile device, and you will be directed to all our menus. Your server will provide you with a QR code.
  • Our printed menus are single-use. If you choose a paper menu, we invite you to take it home with you, so you can make notes on the dishes you tried, the wine or tea pairing, etc. And for our lunch guests, you can ponder which items you wish to try during your next visit to Baan Lao.
  • Our payment pads for credit card payments are disinfected between each use.
  • All high touch items including tables, chairs, placemats, etc, will be cleaned thoroughly between each guest.
