Your dining experiences look amazing! Do you offer an à la carte menu as well?

Currently we offer our set price tasting menus exclusively.

To receive news on the launch of our à la carte menu, please register to receive our Baan Lao News or follow us on social media.

Children at Baan Lao

We do not currently offer a children’s menu or an à la carte menu option at Baan Lao. While guests of all ages are welcome, all guests, regardless of age, require a reserved seat. Complimentary seating is not available for anyone not wishing to participate in the full dining experience.

Our dining experiences are a 2.5+ hour culinary journey, and many of our guests look forward to celebrating a special occasion in a relaxing, uninterrupted setting. To maintain the quiet ambiance of our dining space and the natural pace of the evening’s presentation, the Baan Lao Dinner Experience may not be suitable for young children.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming our younger guests when we launch our Fine Dining Lunch Experience.

Is there a dress code at Baan Lao?

Our dress code is best described as “Smart Casual”. We request our guests wear elegant attire and appropriate footwear. Please, no sports or athletic garments, sleeveless t-shirts, or slippers.

You have a wine pairing menu. Do you offer wine by the bottle as well?

Absolutely! In addition to our wine pairing menu, curated by Master Sommelier Pier-Alexis Soulière, we also offer a robust wine list.

May I bring my own wine? Do you have a corkage fee?

Guests may bring their own wine. Our corkage fees are $75 / 750 ml bottle and $150 / magnum.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies?

At Baan Lao, we wish to have our guests enjoy the exquisite flavours Chef Nutcha Phanthoupheng has carefully created for your dining experience. Alterations to the menu may compromise the taste and integrity of our Baan Lao dining experience. As such, we strive to make the fewest number of changes possible to each delicious dish.

For our “From The Fields of Thailand To The Shores of Canada” Signature Dinner Experience, we are unable to accommodate any substitutions.

For our “Taste of Baan Lao” menu, we are able to accommodate requests for:

✔️ Gluten-free

✔️ Dairy-free

✔️ Pescatarian

✔️ No shrimp, but not allergic to shellfish

We are currently unable to accommodate requests for:

𝙓 Vegetarian

𝙓 Vegan

𝙓 Shellfish-Free

Note: We are able to remove the shellfish from our dishes, for guests who prefer no shellfish. However, a number of our home-made sauces contain shrimp paste. We are unable to safely accommodate guests with a severe shellfish allergy.

Given the complexity and diversity of our menu, we cannot guarantee our supply chain, kitchen and preparation areas remain nut or shellfish free. As such, we have made the difficult decision that we are unable to accommodate guests where cross-contamination may trigger a reaction.

Guests requesting minor adjustments to accommodate food sensitivities may submit their request via the pre-visit questions you will receive upon completing your reservation. All requests must be made at least 5 days in advance of your dining experience. If we are unable to accommodate your request, our reservation concierge will contact you. Thank you for your understanding.

Does Baan Lao’s food contain MSG?

All our menu items are MSG-free. We use certified organic and natural ingredients from our local partners and friends and our Thai farm. We believe freshly made food not only tastes better, but it’s better for us as well. No prepared sauces or soup bases are used in preparing our food.

Do your dining experiences include beverages?

We offer carefully curated wine pairings or tea pairings to enjoy with your meal, at an additional cost. A list of wines by the bottle or glass are available, as well as a selection of specialty cocktails, beer and other spirits. Your server will be pleased to review the available selections with you and help guide you with recommendations.

How long is the Signature Dinner Experience?

The Baan Lao Signature Dinner Experience will take up to 2.5+ hours.

The Taste of Baan Lao Experience is approximately 2 hours.

How can I change or cancel my reservation?

We understand that life can sometimes get in the way. Reservations are pre-paid and non-refundable via the Tock platform. We are pleased to reschedule your visit to Baan Lao if you provide notice to us via email at least five days in advance. If your reservation is less than five days away, you can transfer your reservation to friends. If you transfer your reservation to others, please provide us with their names so we may personalize their Baan Lao experience. To reschedule your visit, please email reservations@baanlao.ca

What happens if I am running late?

We understand that sometimes our day doesn’t go quite as planned! If you are running late, please call us at 778.839.5711. If you are more than 15 minutes late arriving, your dining experience may be cut short to accommodate a later reservation. Due to the intricacy of the meal preparation and the coordinated effort required for the presentation, guests arriving 30+ minutes late will not be accommodated and no refund will be issued.

May I reserve Baan Lao for a private function?

Absolutely! We are pleased to welcome your group for a private function. Please email info@baanlao.ca regarding your request and we will get back to you to discuss your needs to ensure an exquisite Baan Lao experience for you and your guests.

Where can I park?

There are free, on-street parking spaces on Bayview Street in front of Baan Lao, and along both sides of the building. There is also underground parking nearby, and paid parking at WestPark Lot 087, which is the closest parking lot to our location.

Does Baan Lao have an outdoor patio?

We do not have an outdoor patio – yet!  It is in our plans, though. To be notified of the addition of our patio space and other Baan Lao news, we recommend signing up to Receive Baan Lao News.

I have a media / influencer request. How should I get in touch?

Please direct all media, influencer and other related requests to media@baanlao.ca

May I use my cell phone, or take photos and videos of my Baan Lao experience?

To allow all guests to fully enjoy their Baan Lao experience, we request that you silence your phone upon entering the restaurant. If you need to take a call, please step outside so as not to disturb the ambiance.

While we welcome you to take photos during your visit, we kindly restrict any lengthy, constant or frequent video recordings. This is for the privacy and enjoyment of the other guests – and future guests. As you may be aware, the Baan Lao dining experience is full of surprises and dramatic reveals. To ensure that future guests have the same opportunity to delight in these special surprises that await, we respectfully request you restrict any video recordings short segments only.

Should you be seeking photo or video footage for any commercial purposes, or for viewing beyond personal use, all photos and video recording are strictly prohibited without express consent from our Baan Lao media department. For further information or to request permission, please contact media@baanlao.ca.

Thank you for your understanding!
