At Baan Lao, we want our guests to come to “our home” and eat just as we do. As a former nurse and cancer researcher, Chef Nutcha Phanthoupheng respects the impact food and food sources can have on our health and wellness. Everything she prepares is made with careful attention to using pure, fresh, organic ingredients and whole foods.

We believe protecting the environment for future generations is paramount. Utilizing sustainable food sources and farming practices is essential. To ensure we know exactly what we’re serving, we have made the decision to purchase our ingredients direct from farmers, rather than through a distributor. We want to trace where all of our food comes from – land, sea, and farm to table.

When sourcing ingredients, our focus is on certified organic, sustainable and wild ingredients, with no pesticides, insecticides and sprays. Even our pad thai noodles and spring roll pastry is freshly made from organic rice.

All rice served at Baan Lao is organic; grown on our family’s rice fields in Khon Kaen, Thailand. The photo at the top of this page is actually taken on site at our rice farm.

Each element of every dish at Baan Lao is made from scratch, with the exception of fish sauce. Recognized for being organic and tasty, Megachef is a brand used by our friends at Michelin star restaurants in Thailand.

Baan Lao features a living wall, where we grow fresh herbs and greens for our kitchen team to harvest, as needed. To supplement our herb garden, Chef Nutcha also grows our organic microgreens in a nearby building.

Sumas Mountain Farms is our exclusive supplier for the pork, beef, chicken and duck featured on our menus. Chef Nutcha selected them to be our partner, as they are certified organic, and committed to producing healthy, sustainable products, refusing to feed corn or soy to their animals. With their on-site abbatoir, they will be delivering fresh meat to the Baan Lao kitchen, each and every day, ensuring the freshest, most delicious cuts of meat are served to our guests. We know you’ll taste the difference.

We are also proud to partner with Summerhill Winery.  A certified organic winery, their wines serve as a perfect complement to our Baan Lao menu. Be sure to sample their ice wine, renowned as one of the world’s best.

Even the oils we use will be organic and local .Omega Nutrition is recognized for the freshest, highest-quality, unrefined, organic oils.

We have also partnered with HappyGrün for the plants you’ll see at Baan Lao. We were drawn to HappyGrün’s key values of happy and green. They believe plants help create happiness and grün is green, in German. Within Baan Lao, their plants will help naturally purify the air, and will also be strategically placed to create elegant separations to assist in maintaining appropriate physical distancing for our seated gues
